New Volunteers

by Allison Murray on August 12, 2010 @ 5:25 pm

We are SO EXCITED that you are interested in serving with us! Investing in the life of a high school student is such an important role and one we take very seriously!! Here in Element (our high school ministry) there are several ways you can serve:

What is it? This team helps us pull off our Saturday night program, which is our main event for high school students. We ask our leaders to arrive no later than 5:30 and will be finished by 7:30pm.
Specific Roles: greeting team, cafe team, upstairs in the game room, security, or even helping facilitate programs during our service.
Commitment Level: This role has some flexibility with the level of commitment but we do ask that you only commit if you are willing to be there on the nights you are scheduled.

What is it? This role is highly relational. This is the heart of our ministry and where we see the lives of students changed! On Wednesday nights during the school year students meet in homes all around Savannah with a group of their peers. These groups are divided by grade and gender and are assigned 2 leaders.
Specific Roles: Engage in the lives of your small group. To know them by name, know what they are interested in, know how they are doing spiritually, and begin a mentoring relationship with them. These relationships are essential to the spiritual growth of our students.
Commitment Level: We do ask that you only make this commitment if you are able to be there consistently on Wednesday nights as well as finish at least one full school year with your group.

What is it?
This is a team of adults that help us pull off our Sunday morning program called Element U. The idea  behind Element U is to encourage and challenge students to grow through learning. We will offer a rotation of classes during the school year that will help students grow in the area of Biblical knowledge, life application, evangelism, defending their faith…etc. We ask leaders to arrive no later than 10:30 and we will be done by 12:15.
Specific Roles: We are looking for teachers for these classes as well as adults to help lead discussions and provide supervision.
Commitment Level: This role has some flexibility with the level of commitment but the classes will run on a rotation (6 week study, 12 week study) and we ask that you are consistent throughout your scheduled class.

The first step in this process is to have you fill out our volunteer application. We take very seriously the adults we put in the lives of our students so please take your time when filling out the application. Once we have received it we will contact you letting you know what comes next! We are so excited about your interest in serving in Element and we look forward to getting to know you better! If you have any questions feel free to email me at amurray@savannahchristian.com or call my office at 629-4767!
