FUTURE GENERATIONS MINISTRY COVENANT

Our organization operates under biblical authority and recognizes the Bible as the ultimate source for truth and wisdom. We believe that all Scripture is inspired by God and gives us God’s requirements for leaders and those of influence in the Church. Because of this, we ask that our Volunteers recognize what the Bible teaches in regards to family and lifestyle choices. We are held accountable for every leader we approve to influence kids and families at our church.

If you are a participant in any of the following lifestyles, we ask that you not apply to serve or lead in a family ministry environment (ministry to children and students, birth to college and their parents).

  • Living with someone of the opposite sex outside of marriage
  • Participating in a homosexual relationship
  • Pursuing an affair outside of marriage
  • Using alcohol excessively or abusing prescription drugs
  • Using illegal drugs and marijuana

It is important to say that we also believe that God loves all people and His grace is offered to everyone, regardless of his or her current lifestyle. However, those aspiring to leadership and influence in the church are held to a higher standard. We believe that the criteria listed above are consistent with the Scriptural mandates for church leadership. It is not our intention to point out categories of people that God does not love or offer His grace.

If you have concerns, questions, or feel that the guidelines listed above disqualify you from serving, please contact the Pastor or staff ministry leader and he or she will be glad to talk with you.

New Volunteers

by Allison Murray on August 12, 2010 @ 5:25 pm

We are SO EXCITED that you are interested in serving with us! Investing in the life of a high school student is such an important role and one we take very seriously!! Here in Element (our high school ministry) there are several ways you can serve:

What is it? This team helps us pull off our Saturday night program, which is our main event for high school students. We ask our leaders to arrive no later than 5:30 and will be finished by 7:30pm.
Specific Roles: greeting team, cafe team, upstairs in the game room, security, or even helping facilitate programs during our service.
Commitment Level: This role has some flexibility with the level of commitment. We ask our leaders to serve AT LEAST every other Saturday night and to communicate with our staff when unable to be there.

What is it? This role is highly relational. This is the heart of our ministry and where we see the lives of students changed! On Wednesday nights during the school year students meet in homes all around Savannah with a group of their peers. These groups are divided by grade and gender and are assigned 2 leaders.
Specific Roles: Engage in the lives of your small group. To know them by name, know what they are interested in, know how they are doing spiritually, and begin a mentoring relationship with them. These relationships are essential to the spiritual growth of our students.
Commitment Level: We do ask that you only make this commitment if you are able to be there consistently on Wednesday nights as well as finish at least one full school year with your group.

The first step in this process is to have you fill out our volunteer application. We take very seriously the adults we put in the lives of our students so please take your time when filling out the application. Once we have received it we will contact you letting you know what comes next! We are so excited about your interest in serving in Element and we look forward to getting to know you better! If you have any questions feel free to email me at amurray@savannahchristian.com or call my office at 629-4767!
