Thinking about Making that Change
You know what seems crazy? Last week a lot of us were sitting in our comfortable homes watching a guy sing “Pants on the ground,” and at the same time millions of people were in Haiti experiencing a horror that is beyond our imagination.
I believe that God is always asking us to think beyond ourselves and help others who are desperately in need. That’s the idea behind the series, “Make that Change.” So this little blog post is just a reminder to keep thinking beyond ourselves, pray for those in need, and be ready to give. We will take up an offering at Element this week, for Haiti and/or Ecuador. Hope to see you there!
My favorite youtube video right now…
I have 10 bucks for the first person that learns this (facial expressions must be included)
A new year and a new blog post!
So, it’s time to fire up the element blog again. : )
To start the new decade off right, we’re going to put something up on the blog every Monday. Sometimes a top five list, sometimes a youtube video, or sometimes some random thoughts from element leaders or students.
Today, though, it’s Doug’s top five favorite moments over Christmas and New Year’s:
5. Gravy (mmm.)
4. Someone who loves me got me a tub of cotton candy for Christmas
3. Watching people I love be excited about gifts I gave them (like, I gave my Dad an LED head lamp, and he used it to fix my tub drain!)
2. At the Element Christmas Scavenger Hunt, hearing how the different teams used their $5 to serve God and serve people
1. Luke’s first Christmas
Actually it’s tough to narrow it down to five… our family has a lot to be thankful for. I hope you are blessed in 2010, and that you remember that every good gift is from God!
